John and Bertha's Story
I interviewed John and Bertha
about their experience with
Adoption Affiliates, they were
great they gave me so much
information that I could use. I
hope that it helps anyone out
there who is contemplating
adoption, I have condensed
the interview a little but , here
is their story, enjoy!
The Questions:
1. Why Adopt?
John and Bertha: When we first
met we talked about adoption.
Bertha:(she had experienced
repeated miscarriages) I wasn't
really sure I wanted to go through
infertility (treatments), we prayed
about it and decided God wanted
us to go this route. A friend
referred us to Adoption Affiliates.
2. How has adoption impacted
you life?
Bertha: (The adoption) made our
lives and relationships richer.
John: Feels like any new parent.
3.Do you plan to adopt again?
John and Bertha: Yes, (we)
considered adopting older
children. (we) looked into state
adoption.
4.What advice would you give
potential adoptive parents?
John: Be supportive of each
other, (the parents) should know
what they want in a child, ie. age.
Check out all options, don't be
afraid to say what you want.
Read books and do research.
